What does Replacement Warranty and Pro rata Warranty mean?
Replacement
Warranty is the guarantee in terms of time for which a given product is
supposed to work without malfunctioning. If a malfunction occurs during this
specified period of time, the manufacturer/seller is liable to repair the
products at the earliest and that too free of cost.
Pro Rata Warranty is the warranty under which, if an item fails before the end of the warranty period, it is replaced at a cost that
depends on the age of the item at the time of failure. The replacement item is
then covered by an identical new warranty.
For instance, RC 18000 & EC 18036 both have a warranty of
36 months. Though, it should be noted that RC 18000 model comes with 18 months
of replacement warranty and 18 months of Pro rata warranty while EC 18036 comes
with 36 months of only replacement warranty.
How to select VA rating
based upon Battery Ah. So let’s say, I have 220 AH battery, Which VA Rating
inverter should I buy?
For
calculating the VA rating of the inverter when the battery AH is given, we have
to divide the AH rating by the power factor. In India, the power factor for
residential houses varies from 0.7-0.8. For instance, let us assume that the
power factor of a given house is 0.8 and the battery is 220 AH, then VA rating
of the required inverter is equal to 220/0.8 = 275 VA.
